Does anyone know of any grants for green business that DOESN`T require the business to be a registered non-profit?  I do not want to become a non profit because of the limited nature of such entities and the deep reach the gov`t has into those associations.  However, a grant would really get my business off the ground!  I`ve searched and searched... maybe I`ll just have to wait for Obama`s green grants next year :)

I agree with Jynell. I company we worked with recently received a grant and a substantial loan guarantee for moving their headquarters from Detroit, MI and building a green facility in San Jose, CA under a program provided by the DOE.

Since a lot of states are also trying to drum up business, I wouldn’t be surprised if there are additional grants and support programs available on a state level.

I hope this helps.
