Hey all--

Hope you`re enjoying our new spiffed up, easy-to-navigate site. An enormous amount of work has gone into it, and we`re not done yet. Your StartupNation team couldn`t have done it without your insights and input. Thanks.

Now to the topic.

Saw an item online recently saying that Google shareholders will have a chance at their annual meeting to vote up or down on a proposal for Google to take "a strong stance against censorship and abusive regimes."

What do you know about it? What do you think?

Hey, the site is cool I like the new look. It feels smoother.

On the topic, its seems like a way for the public to fight censorship legislation that goes through Washington. Kind of like a new form of lobbyists. I know Google isn`t going to go to Washington at this moment, but if they do a good job controlling "censorship and abusive regimes," maybe that`s the future. At the same time, I hope they don`t turn out to be like all other political environments; entangled in their own web of rules and regulations. If we can trust them. At least they`re trying to hold constitutional principals high... we think.

I think this is actually more to do with Google`s marketshare in other countries.

Ie 2 choices ...
1) Offer Google in places like China in a heavily-censored form.
2) Try to sneak in there uncensored.

I say ... well ... Fight the power!
