Excellent article.

I think each partner`s measurable performance goals should be established BEFORE becoming a partner.  Failure to meet different levels of performance should result in adjustment of job description and compensation.

I`d like to add I also learned the hard way via personal experience.  My former partners are still driving the company I founded downward, saying it takes time to grow.  Ah, business is tough!
