Hi everyone...

I feel like the Geico insurance ad here. So I guess we`ll go with the bad news first....

As some of you know, over 6 years ago I dreamt a dream called GoTruckStop.com. After several fits and starts, I put that dream into action a few years ago. Over the past 10 months it has started to see some marginal success ... but not enough to truly beleive that it can become a stand alone business.

After careful consideration and prayer, I`ve decided to close GoTruckStop.com in the next week or so. I`ve learned alot over the past 6 years ... not only about start-ups, the internet, and e-commerce ... but also about myself. I also want to say thank yo for ALL the members of SuN for your support, advice and suggestions. It is all duly appreciated.

OK, now the good news ...

It looks like I`ll be returning to Iraq in early August ... to work as a civilian contractor again. Since returning back to the States last year, my heart has really been back there. After a number of days of prayer, I`m convinced that this is where the Lord wants me to be ... supporting the troops. I`ll be driving big rigs there, running supply missions from camp to camp ... throughout Iraq.

I`ll keep everyone updated as to my deployment schedule ... and will also keep everyone abreast, as much I can (Op Sec issues), while there.(I`ll be there for atleast a year.)

Take care everyone.

TJ

To the StartupNation community,

TJ spoke with me about this yesterday. I could hear in his voice both the sadness of closing the door of GoTruckStop.com and the excitement of returning to Iraq to act on a clear calling in his heart.

StartupNation sends you off with a blessing of prayers for your safety and an eagerness to continue to hear from you on this leg of your entrepreneurial journey.

I am sorry to hear you are leaving the Startup Nation team. I am sure you are welcome back anytime. As for Iraq...

Take care of yourself. Please pass along the notion of my thanks to everyone you meet while on your journey. It is a difficult, dangerous struggle over there. I wish there was an easier answer for America and Iraq. Remember… you will be missed.

TJ,

A salute to you for following your heart and dreams and for giving GoTruckStop.com a go. A big thank you for going back to support the courageous men and women of our armed forces as they protect our freedoms and liberty ... and the opprotunity to even open a small business. Take care and be safe.

"When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds; your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be."

Doors are always opening and closing. Its these doors that keep life interesting, keeps us guessing whats on the other side. GoTruckStop.com may have its doors shut now, but that doesn`t mean that those doors are shut for good. Stick it up in a corner somewhere to collect some dust and then re-evaluate in a few months, a year, whenever you get an idea to work on it again. Sometimes its all about timing.

As for Iraq, many prayers and blessings to you. You are going to be missed. Take care and watch yourself.

TJ,

You have to go where your calling is.  Life is full of sudden twists and turns and some feel right while others we are not so sure of.  However, I have always been a big believer in everything happens for a reason.  The good thing here is you are happy about going back to Iraq even though it means giving up your dream where you have invested so much of your life and invested so much of your savings.

You have been a wonderful support to me and to so many people at SUN.  I can`t thank you enough for all you have done for me in helping me to get my online store started as well as the moral support and generosity you have extended to me with regards to my business!!

Truly you will be missed yet you won`t truly be gone will you??  Please be sure to stay in touch via the wonderful tool called the internet and touch base with SUN to let everyone know how you are making out once you are there.  Besides, I have to know you are okay and that things are going well for you!!!!

Most importantly TJ, take care of yourself over there, thank you for serving our country and, above all, PLEASE stay safe.
