Found this great site this morning and am so excited to be here!  I`m from Waxahachie Texas and am in the final planning stages to open Heather`s Smokehouse BBQ.  It`s been a exciting adventure so far and I have learned so much, with much more to learn.

Looks like I found the site to teach me the rest I need to know :-)

A little about me:
I am a married 28 year old mother of 3 (sometimes 4, if you count my husband, lol)
I have worked in restaurants for most of my adult life (and some of my teen life) and love the "fast pace, stressful get it done" attitude and style of them.  My mother has run a bbq for the last ten years and has been a fundamental help to me.  I am working with a local branch of the SBA and our hope is to secure funding and be open by October 1st.

You sound like you`ve got all the basic ingredients for this, and apparently the SBA is thinking the same? Um.....whereabouts in Texas is Waxahachie?

Waxahachie is considered a small (40,000 pop.) suburb of Dallas -- we`re about 30 miles south of the big city  :-)  I like my "little" town. :-)

Hey, we`re in Batavia IL, also a little town, and we like it as well. Just west of Chicago, but much quieter. :-)

You are close enough we might make to your bbq joint.  I don`t know Waxahachie very well, are you going to be close to 45?
