I don`t have a recommendation. Nikole and Roland are developers, so their input is pretty valuable. I guess it depends on your budget, how much you want to customize something, and how easy it is to get into your site area. That, and how good is their tech support and customer service.

The main thing that bugs me is when I`m uploading changes at night, minute by minute, the server on the other end is running really slow. I hate the delay. Daytime is fine, and there are reasons for the delay. But if you don`t intend to be doing lots of incremental uploads and changes....that`s an important consideration too.

Might be a function of your internet connection, not the server.

mm..no, I don`t think so. I`ve tested the connection. But I know that at night, they`re doing some maintenance. Plus, I have other issues where I`m sharing some space with a friend of mine, and there`s a lot of activity going on. I think I get it, but can`t do much about it right at the moment.

This all sounds like very good advice but I thought I would share some of my good experiences.  We have used Peer1 (http://www.peer1.com) for over 8 years now with nearly no down time.  We have used several others.  Peer 1 has kept things up and running fast all the time without me asking or complaining.  They seem to have something for everyone and have options as you grow.  They also have a great support team when you have questions.  If you cannot tell it, we are very happy with them.  The only time I have had any serious issues with any service is when we used heavily shared servers.  This can make your site look bad no matter how good you are at creating it.  Dedicated servers are the best as soon as you can afford them, even if someone else does the maintenance.

We used nHarmony to build our web page, Kitttyslicker.com.  They are excellent in design, marketing and technical support and provide equally great customer service.  I never hesitate to call when I have questions or concerns.  The customer service is very personalized.

I`ve been using GoDaddy for years.  I have over 50 domains registered there and four websites.  I`ve never had a service slowdown and their customer service has always been responsive to questions.

The nice thing about GoDaddy is that you can start out small with a $5 per month site and upgrade the service as your traffic grows.  You can even start with a free site to test your website development.

I have never, ever in more than five years regretted hosting my domains and websites at GoDaddy.
