Hi everyone, new here. I have a small athletic wear manufacturing company I started 5 years ago. Our business doubled every year the first four years, but the last year has been tough with all the market problems.

We sell direct to customer -- through clubs and organizations -- doing custom products. In order to grow now, we have to change the way we do sales. The problem is, I don't know how to. I know what I need to do, but I'm am not a sales person.

What I do know is that the garment industry is odd and follows it's own rules. So how do I go about finding distribution networks and sales agents? I too received monthly emails from Into Stores, but I don't know how well that would work.

Advice is welcome! Thoughts, ideas, or just comments too!

Thanks

Susan

Susan,

How did you get to doubling sales for four years? Was it through referrals? Who did the selling?

Viral and direct marketing might be what you consider.

Have you considered utilizing testimonials from the existing clubs and organizations?

These could be put on your website, emails and printed media to increase credibility.

Just make sure to check out the current laws as to what you can and cannot do with them.

One thing I know and that's this: youth soccer is exploding down here in the states and there are opportunties abound for small companies like yours to capture new business.

Best Wishes,

Dave Krygier
