So I am writing a couple of articles right now, and I`m finding some fun people to link to. Except sometimes I have to go through 30 articles to find 5 good ones based on content and the link quality. This is just time I don`t like wasting.

Say I have a choice between 2 articles on the same topic. Which one do I link to? The one that has the trackback. I really don`t understand why people use a CMS without a trackback function for their articles. This is a win-win situation. I talk about your site and link to you, you link to me via trackback for having related content. I choose your site because it was good content AND offered a trackback! Our PageRanks both go up, our users are happy to find related content, everyone wins!

So now I`m getting to blogspot, because I can`t figure out why anyone uses that. You can`t trackback .. you have to do some "create a link" thing that never ever works for me. (It doesn`t like my Google login or something.) It`s almost worst than offering no trackback, because it`s a frustrating experience just to comment or participate on your blog ... which now makes you on my skip list.

Anyhoo, the real point is that
1) don`t put anything ... or at least anything important .. on blogspot. Get a real blog or CMS for your content.
2) offer trackbacks. It`s a no-brainer.

OK ... and now I open this up to everyone to contribute the other no-brainer stuff out there in the web world. What frustrates you, and what are the simple things people should be doing to their sites?

Just a simple, constantly talked about, rarely done thing here...
If you spend 10 minutes (I usually spend much more time than that) writing an article, comment, or email to someone... Shouldn`t you spend 5 minutes proof reading it?

It makes if very difficult to get the message of a post, email comment, or anything in text, if you are spending your brain power putting the letters in the right order or adjusting the sentence structure for proper grammar, as you read. Sometimes I have to read articles twice. Sometimes, they don`t get a second read and I break away half way through the communication. If I am who your message was intended for, shouldn`t you make sure to keep my attention once I get there to read your message?

If you really want to keep my attention, shouldn`t your text take me on a journey from beginning to end? Instead I see writings that jump around and make it difficult to follow.

So... I have proof read this. I have changed a couple of words on my proof reading session. See. It works! Hopefully there wasn`t something else I over looked.
