I like you all to critique GidiLinks and let me know what i'm supposed to do to make it a high traffic site with lots of contributors. My main problem  is what to focus on as a niche to attract a specific set of readers. I've kept it diversified and it doesn't seem to work.

Thanks.

Hi Harday,

I think you've identified your challenge correctly--as a reader it's hard for me to find the focus of your site. You're right that you need to identify a niche.

My advice would be to focus on your users. What do you have to offer them? How can you be helpful and provide them with information they want? In what areas do you have expertise that is valuable to others? These questions can help you create a more focused and engaging website.

Hi Dave,

The site seems interesting and is just a general news site if I understand correctly.  Here are a few notes that come to mind.

-I would change the logo as it is hard to read and seems to have no purpose.

-I would fill in or remove a lot of the white / blank space yo have on your home page as you scroll down.

-make the buttons on your button bar bigger, bolder and more prominent

-cut down on a lot of the advertising for now

-organize the information clearer

-offer your readers news that is hard to find else where or that follows a specific topic (like celebrity eating habits for example)

Looks like you got a good start and if you want people to come to the site it is really about user experience and how much value you add.  Right now it just seems like you are offering a simple blog with lots of ads.  Most people on the web are instantly turned off by generic sites like this.  Maybe offer something for free or do a giveaway or something. Best of luck!
