I have just patented (pending) a new product for firefighters

I would like to work with a guy who would like to take my product around the world to all the bases that America owns.

Does anyone have products that the government use any advice?

I also have a local distributor who has 350 other distibution shops around the country.  He would like to buy the product.  Should I license this to him? What should I ask for a royalty?  Projected profit 12 to 18 million. Tongue

I have quite a bit of experience in that area (am currently working FEMA and Department of Homeland Security on behalf of a small firm). Be very wary of anyone who promises you the world. More often than not, they will not deliver. I`d be happy to pass along any info that might be helpful to you.

Hello,

I currently work in the Military (USAF) as a Contracting Specialist. Meaning, we do all the solicitations, negotiations, awards, and administration of government contracts. I also deploy to bases around the world periodically. Let me know if I can help you! I also have contacts in the Middle East that do work for the government.

Jamie, I would love to talk with you or could you call or email me your number to contact?  I am not the best at typing all the things I would like to ask.  My phone # is 414-690-0256. I would like to bounce some things off of you.  Your in the right branch.  I would like to get these products into the bases with firefighters.  I saw some donations that the gov. made to a Afganistan FD. My product would be huge with all military firefighting.  Please call so I can get things lined up for the new year.  Thanks a million.  I would love to do business overseas also.

For an all-volunteer site, dedicated to small businesses who wish to succeed in federal government contracting, please see the below site:

http://www.smalltofeds.blogspot.com/

The federal government will contract in excess of $80B to small businesses in the next fiscal year.

There are over 50 agencies or "Departments" in the federal government. Each of these agencies has a statutory obligation to contract from small business for over 20% of everything it buys.

Contracting officers must file reports annually demonstrating they have fulfilled this requirement. Not fulfilling the requirement can put agency annual funding in jeopardy. Small business has a motivated customer in federal government contracting officers and buyers.

Large business, under federal procurement law, must prepare and submit annual "Small Business Contracting Plans" for approval by the local Defense Contract Management Area Office (DCMAO) nearest their headquarters. These plans must include auditable statistics regarding the previous 12 month period in terms of contracting to small businesses and the goals forecast for the next year.

The federal government can legally terminate a contract in a large business for not meeting small business contracting goals. Approved small business plans must accompany large business contract proposals submitted to federal government agencies. Small businesses have motivated customers in large business subcontract managers, administrators and buyers.

There are set-aside opportunities available for small entities, veterans, disabled veterans, women and minorities. All it takes is navigating the system, persistance, asking questions, registering, marketing, teaming and working hard.

Small Business America is good at that.

Thanks for the info.  I will look into finding the contact in my area.  I work with a group of SBA people here in Milwaukee WI.  I hope they can point me in the right direction.

Thanks for sharing the news about the federal government contracting small businesses. I personally believe it will help a lot of people. However, I suggest that small firms interested in doing business with the federal government must consult first with reliable contract consultants. In doing so, owners may fully understand what their contract is all about.
