Hi there everyone,

Does anyone know anything about the process of getting a distribution deal?  I`m having to distribute my products on my own now, but eventually, I`d like to get a company to do this for me.   Any advice?

Thanks,
DayDreamer (in Action)

Hello Day Dreamer,

one way of doing this is through affiliate marketers.  Depending what your products are you can offer a split to affiliates on Click bank or some of the other companies that set up affliate business for you so affiliates will promote and market your product for you.  You can also check into Amazon small business,  they have a section for the small business owner, that you send a certain amount of units to them, and set up your account through them and when your product is sold they ship it for you.

One other way is to do a search on drop shippers or fulfillment companies, and make an arrangement with them to ship out your product when it is ordered through their gateway.

We use Amazon`s FBA just for Amazon orders; it`s okay, not too expensive, but I`m not really a fan and I might be shutting down the store I have on them (too long to get into it here, but for the number of orders compared to sending $$ to a company I don`t think is "SuN worthy").

Two sites I`ve checked out but have not used are: ShipWire and eFulfillment  And there is a SuN member here who offers a great suite of services for people.

Point being is these are not "Distributors" like maybe you are asking about; these are places you pay to process and ship orders (even if like Kat says and you set them up to do 3PL for you) and not where you get a deal where you are suppling them with product and they are doing all of the selling and distribution.

Not sure which you are asking about, but if it`s the second there are a lot of them and selling to them is like selling to a big box store ... the place to start is with a retail operation where you see your product being sold and asking them where they get their stuff (I know it sounds too "duh" and easy, but it`s an easy thing to do; selling them on carrying your product isn`t, so it balances out!~)

There`s a website, www.wholesaledistributorsnet.com that appears to have a lot of information on it.  We`re a provider of distribution software and it`s been useful for us but your perspective might differ from ours. Hope it helps.
