I am in Florida. Can you still help me?
On average, it is not easy for businesses or general contractors to work without general insurance. General liability insurance is planned to guard operators and owners of companies from claims that may come from a broad spectrum of sources. These exposures could be just about anything, together with liability engendered by accidents from the operations of the insured party, contractual liability, products manufactured by the insured party, etc.
This is a 5 year old thread... but in case someone reads it i thought I'd chime in.
I'd mostly agree with this, except that insurance isn't just for the business owner. It's for their customers too. If you(the business owner) do something that damages someone or something else then your insurance will make that person whole again. Yes, it protects you from having to pay that claim out of your bank account, but, it's not JUST for you.
