A few weeks ago I got a call wanting me to donate my time to MDA Lockup and raise $500 "bond money".   I am suppose to be "Locked Up" March 3rd.

I have gotten a few donations from family and friends and was hoping to get the rest of it through my website so I put a link at the top of my page.  I still don`t have very good traffic on my website and haven`t got any donations.

I was just wondering if anyone has ever used there website to help raise funds for something like this?  Is there any thing I could do to help get people to donate? Is there any other advise you can give me?

Thanks

Hi Vicki,

I think what you are trying to do is commendable!  But I do think,.. to really get donations you will need quite a bit of traffic to your site.  I think it`s always good to show that you have interests in doing good, but in this economy it probably isn`t as easy for people to donate everywhere.  There are so many needs, and ways to donate. Also  the small lettering on your site `for the cause` is probably very easily missed.  I wish you luck with your cause. Get locked up!

Thank you Janie,

I have never been very good at asking people for money so I was hoping that I could help by using my website.

I tried to make the wording a little bigger but it threw everything else off so I left it small.

Thank you
