I have designed a machine that is helps a person set a monument, a tombstone, in a cemetery.  I am 90% finished with my business plan and doing a proforma financial evaluation.  But I am worried about getting any financing from any outside sources.  I have about $11,500 in the prototype of the first machine.  With a per unit cost of about $20,000 and a projected sales for the first year of 4 units I am looking at needing and wanting about 30k to get this venture started.  I am looking for ideas as to how to go about getting the funding to start this business.

Thanks

Builder,

There are many possible avenues to acquiring capital. Choosing the one that is optimum for you and your business will increase the probability of success.

However, since your first year sales are only 4 units - you might want to consider getting some commitments from users (customers).

If you want to discuss the specifics of your situation, feel free to send me a PM or contact me directly.

Rob,

I like your idea about getting commitments from potential customers.  The problem that I foresee with achieving that is that the machine is a totally new take on an idea that has been half heartedly tried by other companies and has not been looked at favorably.  Though, their problem has been that someone can look at their product and see ways to vastly improve the idea and implementation of the idea.  That should not be the case with my design.  But I think that customers will want/need to see the machine in action in the production form to understand how the machine will improve their business.

I appreciate your comments and insight.
