How can I subscribe to a thread without getting an email alert? Is there a way of seeing a list of subscribed threads from the site itself?

There is no way to do this currently - the forum alerts are only via email.

Thanks for the suggestion though, we will consider it for future enhancements!

Thanks Oleg. Looking forward to it.

On a side note, why does SUN use a home grown forum? Installing something like Vbulletin would save loads of time and give you great familiar features out of the box.

jimbo,

The SUN forum isn`t completely homegrown.  Long time ago in a galaxy far away, it started out as a WebWiz Forum.  At this point it`s very heavily modded and so it made more sense for us to keep working with the existing system rather than migrate to a completely new one.

On a side note, vBulletin is a PHP/mySQL application and so doesn`t mesh well with  the Microsoft-based platform that StartupNation is built on.

Ah...I see...On the other hand, modding a Windows server to run PHP/MySQL would take a fraction of the time taken to mod and maintain webwiz. Good to see an active tech team though. Keep it up.

ok...something else is wrong now. The pop-up on the top right of the page is supposed to show my recent posts, but it shows this thread 3 times.

That`s because you have 3 posts in the same thread.

Does that make any sense at all?
