Hi All,

I hope this is the right place to put this note ...

I spent about six years working on a new way to make helium floating ads. Mine are different from the typical "Blimp" ads because they use much less helium, are lower cost, and can be digitally printed in full color. "Blimp" types are better for outdoor and high-winds, mine are better for indoors, like trade shows, shopping malls, car dealerships, etc.. Unlike "blimp" ads, mine will float for weeks without a helium recharge, rather than just days.

I had hoped to market this new thing myself, but I am currently working on my Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics, and I finally decided that I will never have the time to do it right. So I am looking for a marketing company that would be willing to market the product.

This is how far I am at the moment ... I spent a few years figuring out how to do it, then I purchased about $10,000 of material and equipment to make the floating ads. I made some samples and I made an introductory website, http://www.hovertising.com/

That`s as far as I have gone.

If you`re interested, my email address is mike(at)galaxygauge.com.

Thanks in advance!

Very cool, Mike!

I`m not a marketing guy, but seems like many are out there who would be interested in this type of thing. I`ve got a buddy in the sign business who might be interested in buying some of these, but probably not general marketing of the product. I`ll share your sight with him. Of course, sign companies could be a great channel.

Good luck with the Ph.D. I`ve always been more of a hands-on kind of guy!

Mike,

What are your goals with this project?  Did you start a company yourself to get these products to market, are you interested in licensing the products, are you looking to sell your idea to a bigger company?  I may be able to offer you some help marketing if I know what your plan is.  You can message me here if you would like.  Thanks.....Trent Rousey

Hi Scott,

Thanks for replying. I appreciate you rounding up the Generals! And you`re right about the education thing, I`m also a hammer and nails guy that has been squeezed into academia. I`m eager to make my escape back to a skinned knuckle and a bent valve rod.

Hi Trent,

Thanks for replying on this.

To answer your question, I would ideally like a partner that can incorporate this product into their existing line or possibly start a new line. Initially, for the first few months, just to get a feel for the marketer, I would pay the marketer in a percentage of the product. If they can pull the sales and build the market I would then like to gradually pull back to a minority partner and let them run with it.

I already have a small company, http://www.galaxygauge.com/ but this product requires a different kind of sales effort. I can`t efficiently move in that direction.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
