Okay fine! I`ve got an even BETTER idea!! (Remember, this is all about making money!)

This would be a "green" product, environmentally friendly, PITA compliant, and it would solve many problems.
Glass-less Windows!

It`s BRILLIANT! Think of all the birds who fly into windows accidentally, killing themselves? And what about all those smudges, and window-washers falling to a horrible death? Then there`s the tragic problem of people getting their ears sliced off by broken glass, and the dangers of jagged edges just in general.

If we can`t generate a strong market enthusiasm for Personalized Time, I think we should take a look at these glass-less windows. It`s the Next Big Thing, mark my words!

Glass-less windows.... sounds like an interesting proposition, how would one go about creating such a thing?

Let`s see,
  • step one- Eliminate the glass, no problem, done.
  • step two- Replace glass with something that will allow birds to go through but keep warm/cool air from mixing with the outside environment and exchanging temperature through convection. This is going to be tricky. I`d imagine that creating a vacuum in the space previously occupied by the glass would serve that purpose.
  • step three- Invent a device that will (without the use of materials to encapsulate space) create a stable vacuum and insert were glass used to be.

Hmm another possible way to achieve the same result would be  to have a permanent water curtain, if we create a window were water is dispensed under pressure from the top, collected on the bottom with a suction mechanism pumped and reused we would have a semi-closed water circuit that would do the trick. Of course visibility would suffer a tad, but to overcome this difficulty we could put a HDtv right next to the window and a camera on the other side and Presto! we`ve got the glass-less window with the added benefit of a permanent humidifier with less loss of temperature during the winter months and a safe environment for birds if they choose to fly into the window.  ;-)

Jeez....I wasn`t thinking about the barrier of warm/cold air. I was only concerned about the dead birds! I figured you`d build a frame, then stick it in a wall. Easy, low costs, and no cleaning issues later.

But if we`re gonna have to get tricky and start keeping warm and cold air separate, that`s gonna require an entire research project! :-) I just wanted to get the company up and running, and worry about the details later.
