I was just wondering if you could give a recommendation for the best place to get FREE stock photos. I`m looking for contemporary home photos.

Thanks & God Bless,

As co-owner of a design & photography agency I would like to throw out this caution for your image search of homes.

Make sure you have a release and/or permission.

Unless the homeowner signed a release for the image to be used for commercial purposes the photographer and the company/individual who used the photo(s) is could be liable.

Essentially, you just can`t take a picture of someone`s house because it looks great and sell/use the image.  Plain and simple.

JSondy,

Thanks for the warning. We`re aware of needing to receive permission which is why we really would like to just use photos that have releases "attached" to them already. Or photos that are in the public domain. However, we need really crisp pictures of contemporary/modern homes. Not particularly just the outside, but the inside as well.
However, we are preparing to make strategic arrangements with certain companies to provide free advertising in exchange for the release of their images. And of course if they have an affiliate program this could mean an even more beneficial relationship.

Thanks again!

Thanks Brian! This is a great resource. Quick question: I know some of these sites have photos that are royalty free and you have to pay to use them. Out of all the sites, do you recommend any particular ones?

For those of you looking for free stock photos, a great way to get them is to look for/use online coupon codes. I will be able to get many of the photos we need by using coupon codes!

Thanks and God Bless,
