I am preparing a series of business growth workshops and am looking for a speaker to give a presentation on finding alternative funding resources (angel investors/venture capital/etc.) for entrepreneurs looking to start a new business/franchise or fund business growth.  As a business loan officer for Downriver Community Federal Credit Union (Woodhaven, Michigan), I am looking to help our business community by providing education on funding alternatives to local businesses who are unable to obtain funding through the normal sources such as banks and credit unions.  Any help in recommending a speaker would be greatly appreciated.

I have spoken on that topic before (most recently two weeks ago) though I`m not sure you would want to pick up my expenses to fly in from Los Angeles.

An associate of mine that works in  the capital market helping mid-sized and small businesses obtain funding through traditional and alternative sources may be interested.  He has spoken at other venues and has been fairly successful.  YOu may try and reach him through his blog at www.developmentstyles.com.

Consider contacting the Detroit chapter chair for The Financial Executives Networking Group.  There`s likely to be a CFO type or capital markets professional who could help you.
