...started as a startup. Remember that.
It was an idea in someone's head, even those born out of large companies themselves. Probably by a handful of people at most. They had limited resources and limited knowledge. They had limited market research, and a business plan that fell short of what actually progressed (Heh, my first business killed the 5 year plan in 15 months).
Google, McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Home Depot, IBM, Apple, Microsoft, Oracle, Wal-Mart...the list goes on.
Next time you drive somewhere, have someone else drive, and become the passenger. Ask yourself about the businesses you see, how old they are, what their strategy is, how they started, how big they are, how big you think their market is, and what their opportunities are. It's a great game. It's the best game I know.
