Hi,
Does anyone know the best way to project/estimate the turn out to an open house type of event?
I am in the process of planning an open house event for a small brick and mortar, in which there will be free pop corn, hot dogs, sodas, etc. I want to make sure I get enough items to provide to those who will show up. At the same time, I don't want to have a bunch of items left over if hardly no one shows up. I plan to announce the event through flier distribution in the surrounding area (neighborhoods, shopping centers, etc.), Craig's List, and the local online event calendar. The event will likely take place this Spring, but more likely, in the Summer.
I've read where 5% of those invited is a realistic maximum expected turn out estimate, but I have not come across anything that is a realistic minimum expected turn out rate. Does anyone know what this would be? Are there other factors I should consider? Thanks.
