I am considering starting up a consulting business as an equipment planner for small business that may not have the resources to hire a full time purchasing agent. My background is in procurement of capital equipment (healthcare related), construction materials, minor equipment, furniture, service agreements, as well as general accounting.

Any adivce and/or leads?

Thanks!

First step would be to "profile" your target client. How much money do they likely have to spend, what sort of equipment would they be needing, and why would they benefit from an equipment planner.
