I am looking for anyone who can help me gain access to potential investors.  I have a business venture I have been working on for some time now and have many of the peices in place.

I have an executive summary, and business plan, estimated start-up costs, proforma(s), etc.  Beyond that, I launched a website to gauge the interest in this model and I gathered more than 300 membership requests rather quickly, I also have an agreement to launch an international competition focus within this venture, 3rd Party vendors are set and negotiated, location isolated to a specific area and in the process to obtain sponsorships with 5 of the top manufactures within the industry.

A donation model has been outlined both annually and quarterly to help under priviledge children as well as local communities within the area.

MY ISSUE:

I am having issues trying to gain access to potential funding, I have been focusing on creating a polished model, that shows thoroughness and originality.  Now I just need an audience of investors to help me get this project funded.

fringesd,

Sounds like you have invested a lot of time and energy into this project and made real progress. Congratulations.

Just a few general comments about acquiring capital-for your consideration

  • Investors are not a homogeneous group - any more than are customers.
  • We've determined (from our experience) that the "how" is as (if not more) significant to success as the "where" - when seeking capital.
  • The first key step in a successful capital acquisition effort is to determine what path to take (we call it choosing your optimum capital strategy)
  • Most capital for early stage projects will come from or through the project's constituency.
  • The process for acquiring capital is a skill - which can be learned and "honed".

If you'd like to discuss your specific situation, send me a PM or contact me directly.

Robertj

Hi there. I’m not sure if you are aware of this, but your pitch really doesn’t say anything about what you’re seeking funding for. Except, perhaps, that you have a “business venture that you’re worked on for some time now”.

I understand that you’re probably a little wary about disclosing confidential information in a public forum, but if you decide to go that route, you’ll need to be more effective when it comes to sparking interest among targeted audiences. May be a link to your website would help.

Even at the risk of sounding like a broken record, identifying potential financial backers isn’t rocket science, but it’s labor intensive and time consuming. There simply isn’t any shortcut. If there were, don’t you think we would have heard some amazing success stories by now?

So, I think if you’re realistic about pursuing outside financing for your venture you have two options: a) you either connect with a strategic/financial advisor or placement agent who will do the legwork for you or b) you do the research yourself and dedicate some time to understanding your options and investment criteria of potential investors.

It goes without saying that option a) only is an option if the fundamentals of your finance request warrant the involvement of a professional.

If you’re interested in learning more about working with professionals, please feel free to visit our website at http://www.fastventures.com/en/solutions/cf/ppm.php to get an idea of what we/they do.

If you’re interested in creating a starting point for reaching out to potential investors (e.g. high-net-worth individuals) yourself, you may want to take a look at our white paper “Reaching High-Net-Worth Individuals with your Private Placement/Regulation D Offering”. This white paper is available at http://publications.fastventures.com/reaching-high-net-worth-individuals-with-your-private-placement.

I hope this helps.
