Does anyone else out there feel screwed by D&B? I have been in business for a few years and I have a Dunn & Bradstreet #. The interesting thing is some of the most basic information is incorrect...like the spelling of my name. Everytime I call D&B they tell me that I need to purchase a product to establish a company profile. The cost for this ranges from $519.00 to over a thousand! Do they not have a responsibility to correct their records and update them like the personal credit bureaus? Does anyone know how to get thru their system to update records without cost?

Thanks!

I sort of considered it a cost of doing business. When you need them, they can be invaluable. When you do a profile, you can submit vendor references, bank info, etc. It really matters when you lease office space, etc. If you don`t need business credit, i wouldn`t worry about it.

Unfortunately I will need to get business credit, it just irks me to pay it. Oh well, I guess I will just consider it a cost of business also. Thanks for your input!

Be very careful...........and research what you are paying for.  They have a variety of  `programs` that they aggressively market.  They will also expect you to `renew` your profile at that same cost every year.  I know........I also swallowed it as the cost of doing business.  ONCE - I`ve not ever `renewed`.

Thanks Boiseboys! This sounds like a business opportunity for someone :) They have 3 personal credit bureaus, maybe they need another business one!

Riverhouse, did you purchase already? We work pretty closely with them and I might be able to help you get a contact to correct this. . .

Let me call a couple of my contacts that we work with and see if they can give me a name or help with this. I will try on Monday and see what I can scare up. . .

Ok, first off I need to ask if you tried changing your profile online? You should be able to do that. At www.dnb.com down near the bottom on the left side is an "update your profile". Have you tried this.

I did, but unfortunately it tells me that I need to call customer service. That is what started this experience :)

Thanks,
