Can someone please give me their opinions on the following drop shipping companies?

Worldwide Brands, Salehoo, Chinavasion , and Doba.

Are they scams? Can someone actually make money using their services?

Here are some web sites to get you started.  I found them by Googling the company names.  The gist of what I gathered from the sites was simple.  Don’t invest in these companies without knowing what you are doing.  They all are legitimate companies.  But, you need to get a basic understanding of the process first.

I do agree, that securing the product and shipping it myself would far more profitable.

However, the way I see it at the moment the cost of storage, the upfront cost and the limited amount of items one could offer would be hindrances. Though I could be thinking small.

If I drop ship then I don't have to worry about storing products, I would essentially be a middle man finding the customers and matching them with a product and I could offer far more then if I had my own products sitting in a warehouse.

Does this sound like a sound argument?

Here's a second question. There are quite a few owners of small businesses here, could we put together a list of business owners from startup nation that would be willing to drop ship their products.

I am having a very challenging time to find reputable companies from overseas that will drop ship. And for those who do the shipping costs are significantly higher.

Hi again,

Another alternative to your idea of drop shipping is third party ( 3P ) warehousing.  In this scenario, you would provide the product.  But, you have another business warehouse the product.  Customers would send you their order.  You in turn would forward the order to the 3P warehouse to fill the order.  Then, once a month you would do an inventory on your product and send a refill stock order to the warehouse.

Many businesses have extra warehouse space.   They collect extra money by leasing the space out to people like you.  This is a much cheaper than providing your own warehouse.  And, you are not competing with other clients of the typical drop shipping scenario you were originally thinking of investing in.

The advantage of drop shipping is limiting initial expenditure and lowering the amount require to get inot a company.  The drawbacks as stated in other posts are huge, your customer data base will be stolen if working with a company that has no ethics.  In my opinion most of the Chinese companies have little in ethic category.  Be scared of them.
