Hi,

I create an image in Adobe Illustrator, "save for Web" and open this image in Dreamweaver (incorporating it into my web page).

My problem is the image size.  The pixels match when transferring from AI to Dreamweaver, but the inches do not. When opening in Dreamweaver, the image reads almost half the size in inches.  Printing this image from my site, it is almost half the size as originally drawn-up.

I need the size to print, as originally created.

Am I doing something wrong in AI, Dreamweaver, or when I print on the web?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much,

Eileen

When you save to web, it is automatically going to downgrade your images to 72 dpi.

Most printers will print at 150-300 dpi ... therefore your image will look tiny.

What are you trying to print? I`d suggest a PDF - that will print at the right size.

When opening in Dreamweaver, the image reads almost half the size in inches.

In my version of Illustrator (CS 1) you want to do
  • Save for web .....
  • Inside that new window you will see tabs (Color tab, Image size, layers)
  • Make sure you are 100%
Also check to see if Illustrator and dreamweaver are set  to inches or mm, but not both.
