ustar,

How about starting the first paragraph by describing the "problem your business will solve. for example:

When you take your family to theme park, do you have to lug that (video) camera around all day - always trying to get a perfect shot from some place where you can`t go and then discover when you get home that you aren`t in any of the pictures? Ustar`s [unique/patented/proprietary] technology will eliminate all that and make you the STAR of your very own personal video.

Andrew

We are all for making good memory. I will remember it after we have our company up and running.

Robertj

Your lines are very good, close to the direction of my original pitch, but in better wording. I will difinitely use them at somewhere, maybe with different audience.

ustar,

Are you developing your "elevator pitch" for possible investors?

Where do you expect to use it?

I am going to attend a VC task force elevator pitch round table next week, expecting to meet a dozen or so investors, as I was told.

And I will soon to start submitting business plan summary to VCs. I probabaly will use it as a beginning statement.

VC task force definitely is some experience. I audio taped the whole thing. While listen to my tape, I learn that I didn`t speak their language. (not English, but VC language) And I was a little bit impatient to jump into question answering before investor finished their question, not long before, maybe just 1 second ahead.

The feedback/comments I got was kinda expected, but they said in a different way.

They said it`s an interesting/creative idea.

They ask how am I going to get parks to do business with us.

They said this is not technology play but more like an integration play; For integration play it`s all about execution, how do you staff yourself, how do you stop people from doing it after you, and do it quicker and cheaper.

(I objected that we are patent pending but they said people still will copy it if we made money)

In other words, they don`t believe our current team will lead us to there. I mean I don`t blame them. I wouldn`t give 3 million dollars to test if our team will grow  up right to do all that.

But I do get a chance to submit our B-plan, however I think they will be more concerned after they see our two men team on the B-plan.

I think we need a good team, experienced CEO with sound name.

That brings up a great point about strategy. Most people here on the forums, tend to be looking at their tactics---the way they solve immediate problem. They don`t tend to have an overall strategy---a plan to get from the startup to fully-operational business.

However, in your case you`ve got the overall strategy, and you`re lacking in the tactics. In other words, just as these people at the roundtable asked, how *specifically* will you implement this in your first sale? Then, supposing you quickly get 10 more theme parks as customers, how will you handle the day-to-day operations of getting up and running in all 11 places?

It`s true that a good idea brings copiers. Fine, so what`s your strategy for handling that copycatting? In our case, the more people copy us (if they can), the more market "awareness" will come out of it. More people will start thinking of signal flags banners as gifts, decorations, and so on.

If there`s enough potential market, then copiers and knock-off companies will only help increase the awareness of the public, bring the price into some sort of stable condition, and lead to innovations.

Looks like best way to fulfill this idea is to let someone else to be the CEO of this company.

I have limited business experience and language disadvantage. I probably can start this business from Taiwan or China; but if I want the business grow from here in the US, find a suitable CEO seems to be best choice. This is what I felt and I also received more than one suggestion from experienced parties.

I am spreading the words out now. My question is how do I use this forum to do so? where is best place to post?
