Yeah..your idea of selling mattress online is good, you can also add bedsheets, carpets and stuff like this which is into upholstery...will actually give you an idea that what sells best...among these...You can probably ask wholesale dealers to tie up with them and you ask for your commission....all the best!!

No doubt that there are a lot of things to consider when starting your own business, but if done correctly, there is really no substitute.

The Internet has no doubt led to unimaginable benefits and ways to promote an online business. You will of course want to make sure that your site is high quality and as you mentioned that you use high quality images that clearly depict your product. I would also add that you will want your website to be easy to navigate and pay close attention to web design details.

In addition to making people want to visit your site, but sure to outdo your competitors by taking advantage of social media sites as well as becoming a strong member of the industry.

A blog is a great way to keep people posted on industry trends and how your company is evolving with the industry itself. Sharing information with other also gives you an opportunity to generate organic links to your site and increasing your page rankings.

A home/online business does require quite a bit of work and often a bit of outsourcing at first, but the end results can be profitable and satisfying.

Best of luck with your business!

Do you know thousands of retirees-to-be dread going into that ‘unknown’ world of self-employment when their retiring day gets near? These are retirees to be who never try their hands on business when they are at work. At retirement, they look doubtful, not knowing what to do, not knowing where to start from.

This writer once asked a retired senior staff of a federal ministry why he was not doing business. His answer was: ‘What business will I do? I don’t know. I have never done business in my life, and I do not feel like doing one.’ He retired as a director in the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing. He could go into contract jobs, he could do consultancy, all from home, using space in his residence as office.

An online business isn’t just a simple thing rather it’s more difficult than the brick-n-mortar business because you have to look out for customers in the virtual world.

The key to success (by that I mean, making a living doing it) and failure of any business, including a home based, internet business is selling what people need and want AND are already buying!

You can do research on sites such as Amazon and Ebay and see what are the hot or best sellers.

Then from there, do some keyword research using the free Google Adwords Keyword research tool to see 2 important things:

1)  How many people are looking for that item to buy online?

2)  How much competition does it have?

See, once you have found a profitable market, niche and product(s), you want to make sure that it is easily "reachable" by you with your skills, time and money.

There are still plenty of lower competition products that can make you money online.

However, having done a little research myself, I don't think mattresses would be where I would start.

I hope that helps.

Let me know if I can help you further.

Smile

Well you can start by focusing on one product. While doing your business, you will have an idea about the other demands of the market and you can gradually add new products to your offering.
