Hi all!

I think the middle-ground would be collectively making the initiative to do exactly what it is we`re discussing here - creating a green network.  I`m not knocking the cert processes since they do serve a purpose, they`re just not start-up or micro-biz friendly.  So in the meantime while we grow our businesses & as we take our baby-steps we can set our own standard of what is acceptable & what is not.  This allows us as entrepreneurs to be the platform & create the movement.  In the larger scheme of things, & I`m pretty much thinking outloud here & brainstorming, but this could be a sister network to the larger certification community, & serve a higher purpose as a resource & standard for the small green biz.

Maybe I`m going on a tangent here, but I would love to entertain the idea of developing a network or community beyond a shopping mall.  From our correspondence, I get the feeling that we`re on the same page.  Am I sensing this correctly?

Have a great day!
Christine

We can one of two ways.  Create a whole new company, but that gives each of us double work, our own firm and the new firm.  The other would be to use one of our firms as the umbrella.  The mall would then be operated by the green team and profit share etc... determined as a team.  I do have another idea also.  Buying an internet tv station, either under the umbrella or creating a new firm altogether and selling advertising space to eco-friendly non-competing products and services, who could provide all the necessary credentials, as well as providing updates on what`s going on in that realm.  We can also market our products and get global exposure.  Let me refine this idea further.  I would love to have people on board.  With a solid plan for the t.v. station, advertising space could be sold, air time sold and we can get moving.  All that is required is to create the show on tape to be aired.  Let me refine this a bit more.  Again, I am very open to being the umbrella and working with a solid team to put it together and share the benefits.  Tying the tv show to the virtual mall, using a reliable call center, a state of the art website and other key components, we can fly.  I  can also pitch the mall and t.v. station tie in on can we create a business together, but let`s start here with like-minded birds of a feather.

Yes! I love the way you are thinking here. I just came across another company that handles cetifications, called GreenSeal http://www.greenseal.org/ I have some homework to do on them, but I think if we could start examining some of the criteria used by this, and other such types of independent cetification co`s we can get a better idea of what works and what doesn`t.

Katt, I think your ideas are really exciting and I love your thoughts on tying in the TV station. It is definately filling a void in network television, but it can be a HUGE undetaking.  Th be quite honest, I am not sure where to begin on the TV station thinking, but I will keep my eyes and ears open for any opportunities that arise to help this move forward. Are you thinking along the lines of a Home Shopping Network?  If not, maybe we can incorporate a program like that into the station. Let me know how I can help!

Going back to the "eco-mall" idea, I posted some comments earlier regrading some of the problems encountered. I am talking about the porblems that exist NOT becuase I think it`s a bad idea (I think it`s great!) but because I think the place to start might be examining this issues so we can find some innovative solutions, and then create the evolution (does that make any sense). Learn what we can from those that have been there, are there..etc and then put together our best idea of an improved version, and then of course, through our own trials, get it JUST RIGHT!

FYI: I have just officially launched the pilot for my business idea with a small group of  local merchants here on LI. My goal is to work out the kinks to bring it nationwide. Hopefully I can bring to folks like you very soon! (now if only I could hit the fast forward button )

I am glad your pilot is going well.  Cheers!!  I know it is an undertaking.  I looked for vendors that guaranteed their products are Organic, Ayurvedic (no animal testing etc...) and one guarantees it is almost vegan and I found them.  100% organic is a long shot, but if I can get 85%-95% that is a start.  I am working out the mall and tv concept and may have landed a mentor to help me further.  I am determined to create this mall, and purchase the station working towards becoming the most successful "green" wholesale/retail online and offline business in the world with a great team to back me up.  This will take time and I may have to take on VC partners at some point, but I want to bring "green" and ayurvedic to every household in the world.  One brick at a time.

WOW!  I`m so impressed with your passion, your vision & determination.  I hear you referencing "team" & that`s so important.  Sounds like you`re really doing your homework & are doing things in proper sequence.  It took me a while to learn the lesson to surround myself with greatness & that I DONT have all the answers, in spite of my ego!  There are quite a few other lessons I`ve learned along the way, & luckily many of those were tax-deductible (ha-ha)!

I have a handful of clients who are in the media biz, mostly "recovering" news anchors for major stations & some still in the biz, including a couple media coaches.  Perhaps these would be good contacts to have on hand as consultants, advisors or possible team members as you see most appropriate?  Let me know & I`m happy to make the introductions.

Best,
Christine

I am working on a structure in terms of advertising etc... that would allow business to come into the mall and the infomercials that would economically benefit everyone.  There are a couple of ways it can be done.   I will check out your site tonight.  I keep meaning to and then get sidetracked.
