More than that it provides an affordable alternative to professional SEO services.

http://www.seo-playbook.com tells you how, why, and what to do after examining your business and current statistics and then you make the changes or pay your regular web guy an hourly rate to make the changes you tell him to make.

Explain to me how this is self advertisement.  I have nothing to do with seo-playbook other than he is someone that I have met in forums such as this and that provides a service pertaining to the subject at hand.  I have not used his service, he does not know that I am mentioning his services, and I receive nothing but knowing that it possibly could help out a SUN member who is interested in the subject.

LeTutor has been on the SuN community forums for quite awhile, and I`ll vouch that it`s no advertisement, just a reference to another way to accomplish SEO writing.

iouone2,

so, now that you`ve read, or at least started reading, the seo playbook, what`s your opinion?

I agree with CraigL that not everyone can do everything, but I would like to learn the basics of SEO if for no other reason than to know if they people I`ve paid to do it have done it right.

cjpeeps... I have read many things about SEO techniques as I try to learn this process. I have come to the realization that I am not an SEO professional but can gain good knowledge by reading the techniques presented by, supposed experts.

All in all, the particular ebook mentioned here is to inspire sales to personal SEO help. But there are several tips that you can take from reading the information.

I look at the situation like this... Each person will get a different value from what they read. Your knowledge is different from mine, and no one really knows what verbiage will impact my brain better than yours.

As an example, exercise is performed by everyone... or at least it should be... And although I may do some basic sit-ups, or buy a small barbell set, I don`t plan to be as fit as a fitness instructor.

I think it really comes down to understanding that basic SEO processes. I don`t think you (or anyone other than the professional - a person who loves what they do) will be able to have perfect SEO techniques unless you are truly an expert. So. Do read it. There is quality information within. You can also find other SEO sites providing similar information. So search, read, research, and implement. Soon you will find what works best in your market.

SEO and your Profile.

Here`s an interesting exercise, particularly given how many profiles are so sparse. Think of your Self as a product. Now consider what you would write in 4-5 paragraphs in your profile.

The first step is to find a "theme" for your profile---a market postion. The second is to find three sets of "key phrases" that would be the top three phrase people are using in relation to that theme.

Now write those 400 words in such a way that your first key phrase appears 6 times, your second phrase appears 3 times, and the third phrase appears 2 times. You`re allowed to use each phrase once (good idea to do it, actually) as a heading to your paragraphs.

Then make sure the "density" of the key phrases is open enough that it doesn`t appear like spam, where you just list the key phrases 11 times right next to each other.

The resulting profile should explain who you are, be interesting to read, define your market position, and without anyone really noticing, include all those phrases. Additionally, you`ll want at least 1 inclusion of the next 10 key phrases below the top three.

Remember, you have a limit of 400 words, but 500 if you really have to. 300 words is optimal.

Thanks for the links  iouone2

I noticed CraigL says:

" Now write those 400 words in such a way that your first key phrase appears 6 times, your second phrase appears 3 times, and the third phrase appears 2 times. You`re allowed to use each phrase once (good idea to do it, actually) as a heading to your paragraphs."

This is actually the standard that SEO writing professionals recommend for keyword density. However, I think we should look at this from all perspectives - a gem of an article won`t be ebough to leverage teh value of a particular web page. You need to place this well written and well optimised article in a web page with adequate SEO structure - keywords in title, description tag, keywords in ALT tags for images and so on.

Combine this with a good number of high PR links pointing to that specific website, and you may just end up on the first page of results with the SEs.
