I am developing a product in the greeting card catagory, and want to better understand the mark up costs associated with using a distributor.  Specifically, how many points will they typically take in this industry?

Have you done any research and compared how they would charge you? I think this would be the most wise choice to go first.

I think a rule of thumb is 25% for Distributors, 100% for retailers.  That is probably ballpark anyway.  Perhaps others have experience and can refine those numbers.

Hello, typically distribution works on labour drivers, USA TO CANADA

Cost to consider.  Transporation , packaging,  Canadaian Customs charges Duty free under NAFTA & GST 6%),

Local deivery(on air & Ocean Freight)

Warehouse charges in, Per Box ($1.00), SKU Management per SKU (15.00). Warehouse charges out per box or Pick( 1.00) ,delivery to customer
