Hello all,

I know this is a bit more technical question, but I was wondering if anybody here knew what the difference is between installing wordpress directly to domain name and to database. I am pretty much a newbie in website building and it's giving me headache. I am kind of thinking if I should hire a web designer. Some of the web designers I've researched was calling out some massive $ numbers. Do you happen to know affordable web designer/ web designer company that is actually reliable?

I'd be happy to help you get wordpress installed. It takes just a few minutes. Do you have hosting?

Just message me if you'd like the help.

I also do web development (it's how I am paying for my business in the start-up stages), and I'd be glad to give you an estimate, but for installing wp? Nada.

Or, if you don't trust my motives (Free? Really?), you can go to Fiverr.com and someone there will install for you for $5.

It's that simple.

As part of installing Wordpress on a domain, you need to make a MySQL Database for Wordpress to store some of its information on, and then you'll need to give Wordpress the login information for the database when you're installing Wordpress.

It sounds complicated, but it's really not. Making a MySQL Database is as easy as selecting the appropriate option in your CPanel or other webhosting backend, and then choosing a username and password.

Actually it's not complicated and your hosting provider can do that for you, so you don't have to hire a designer. We have similar requests every day and we help our clients, free of charge of course.

I use DreamHost and there's a 1-click option to install Wordpress. I haven't used it, but I've heard it's very easy to use and even updates automatically.

If you look around you should be able to find some amazing coupons for your first year. I think my first year of hosting at DreamHost cost me $9.00!

Sure, if you have Fantastico, but actually, there are 5-6 clicks in the whole proccess...not too bad...still, it's really important that you can depend on your provider's support...even for '1-click' options...

LOL I can't actually post links in here yet. BUT! If you get a host like bluehost or host gator they will have 1 click installs for wordpress.  You can go to youtube and type in bluehost install wordpress and you'll get 100 videos that will show you.
