I had a customer that used to be on e-cart and moved him to X-Cart.  This is an excellent product for shopping carts and has outstanding service 24/7 along with better reporting.

I don`t use Zen Cart or OSCommerce mainly because of the lack of 24/7 support and because of all the in-fighting in the OSCommerce community.  There hasn`t been a major release of OSCommerce in over three years so be warned.

Also, if you hosting company doesn`t have a good interface to your database you may also want to consider changing hosting companies.

sddreamweavers,

All very good and respectable points. I have tried the free zen cart however, I still did not feel it gave me the customization I was looking for -- and the technical support ect. Also, there were several design quirks with zen cart that I could not get around.

I have approximately 100 products -- and I am working with ecart4 at this point. To get around the hosting company`s sql firewall -- i downloaded a test webserver (wamp5) to test my cart before upload to the main database. I will definitely check into x-cart.

Thanks

I am a newbie but uses cloud hosted SQL Server. On the cloud it is performing very well. Also, I can access it from anywhere via Internet.
