site: http://www.completepregnancy.com

Goal:
Overall Goal:
To have users review a specific specialty in the medical field (OBGYN) so that users that are looking for a new OBGYN will be able to see what other patients have thought about their services.

Think of 1800 dentists, but for gyno’s.

Phase 1

Drive traffic to my site to have woman review their doctors.  I am doing this right now by

  • writing articles
  • Submitting those(or looking to have a 3rd party submit them to article directories)
  • Posting articles from RSS feeds (need a better way I know)
  • Need to be able to drive traffic better (main issue for me)

Phase 2
Expand the physician profiles by contacting them and getting their info. I have a sales guy for this, Just need to get the traffic up first though.

I did all the technical aspects my self so I can change it relatively fast.  The hard part for me to fix are the graphics because I’m not exactly savvy  with them.

Please rip it to shreds, I know it has a lot of issues, but based on your feedback, it will help me focus on what needs to be fixed.

Thanks a bunch

Eric,

Your site doesn't have a clear flow. I know you mentioned that your site is sort of like 1800 Dentist, but copying their search image almost exactly isn't the way to go. I see that your main color is orange, but to create effective "call to actions" like the search, you need to use other colors that stand out from the rest. For example, see in the 1800 Dentist the main color is light blue so they used the orange on the search to make it stand out. The first thing that pops out on your site is the baby image on the left side.

Also, your navigation in the top orange is kind of off, "Health |" goes on the second line. I work on websites all the time and it took me a while to find the Home button on yours. It's common now to click on a logo to go back to the home page and yours doesn't do that.

You said that you're not exactly savvy with graphics and it shows. The image with the mom and baby looks really scary and kind of odd because it's all alone in the middle.

"Featured Article" and "Featured Doctor" text is hard to read in white.

You might have great content but I don't see what would attract women to want to stay and on the site.

So before you work really hard to drive traffic, think about how to improve your site so visitors would want to stick around.

Yiana, Thank you for spending time on my site and giving me the great feedback.

I'll start to incorporate your ideas this weekend and see if i can clean it up a bit.
