Hi All,

We are looking for creative ways to get our the word about our new business. Of course there will be a press release going out, but what are some other creative and non-traditional ways of announcing that your new website/business is here!
We have also considered sending letters with a small promotional items to those who have helped us along the way to say thank you and announce that the website is live, etc.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks and God Bless,

Tyra

I thought about giving away a free weekend to a company here in town (Exxon, Chevron, Bayer etc...because that would be advertisment in itself.  That is a $1500. package

Hi Tyra,

The gift to those who helped with the project is a great idea, but I think you answered your own question mentioning it. Basically, make a small, personalized letter and gift, something small but non-traditional, and send it out to journalists.

In an age where we receive (I`m a journalist as well) tons of press releases, getting something in the mail, or even digital - but special, is a real treat. From simple swag (Swag is great when pitching ideas to bloggers ;)) to even simpler letters.

A friend of mine sent a letter talking about his new site in the form of "Hi, I`m x site. I`m new here...". He basically made a funny little story about how the site came to be and what it`s plans were to do when it grows up. You don`t have to be silly at it, but a little humor and some basically colored paper and envelopes sometimes does a lot.

Hi,

Well off the top of my head I like the idea of sending out promotional items...I know of a keychain supplier who can supply you with "house keychains" where you can engrave your company name, phone number, website on the back.

Have you looked into Google Local?  What state / city are you in?

Jeff
