I have recently read quite a bit about various companies using offbeat methods to raise startup capital.

I am interested in doing a similar thing for my latest web2.0 business project.  What I am looking to do is ask for just $20 from interested individuals in return for a $100 advertising account and an invite to the launch party etc.  I am thinking of using a website like www.fundable.org to collect funds.

Is this a viable idea?  Would it work?

I wouldn`t participate in anything like this.  Seems a little sketchy; but that`s just me.

Cheers,

Tammy

There are many ways to raise funds for your idea. I am raising capital now, and what I am doing works. It seems that people are not willing to give anything unless it is almost an instant return. Just like ordering off the internet, people expect delivery of their product immediately.
