My favorite and most effective free marketing tip... and I utilize this myself everyday, in fact it is the way I have grown my business and get strangers calling me everyday...
Is to have Referral Partners, Strategic Alliances a Power Team!  There are lots of names to call it but imagine cloning yourself and having people out there raving about you handing out your cards everyday.  Here`s How:

  1. You find people that make sense in your network to partner with in other words they share your target market and compliment your products or services.
  2.  You trust them, know they are great at what they do and rave about them on a regular basis already.
  3. You meet with them tell them you would like to exchange referrals regulary to help each other grow your  businesses.
  4. You educate them about your ideal clients and learn about theirs.
  5. You give them a stack of your business cards.
  6. and you work for them the way you want them to work for you.
This has been the most effective and passive way to grow my business and my clients have had the same results, it`s free and the benefits have true staying power.  It builds trust and credibility immediately which is key especially in a slow economy. There is a lot more you can do with this process but it`s a great start!

It`s just like making really good friends for business!

What could be cheaper than asking your customers to help you grow your business?

The high-value idea is to leverage word-of-mouth and referrals.  Customers are the best source of new leads and can really help close business.  You might want to look at www.BuzzHub.com which helps manage the process of building a reputation score for marketing on-line and in print.  They call it a BuzzRating.

katscoolcorner1, you have many ideas that are interesting to me.  I have briefly looked for applicable Press Release sites and places to submit articles, but can`t seem to find any that make sense for my business.    I am in health care and fitness.  Do you have any tips on how to find the right kind?  These are all great ideas and very helpful.

One thing that I do is first print alot of colored flyers, then volunteer at the headquarters of my favorite candidate. When I hand out a candidate flyer also hand out one of mine. I like to hit a different headquarter each week. Special events also.

Also if you have a store or location hold a voters registration where you can hand out your flyers or information about you business.

On a 100 budget i could do alot i do it without that right now.

Youtube.com
i use this alot since i film talent videos here in chicago and i put them on youtube since i have a director account and also it promotes my website and company in general so i would suggest making some 5-10 minute videos on your business nothing to crazy just some simple information, video capture possibly some background music (legal that is) and then slap it on youtube and keyword it.

Secondlife.Com
Basically secondlife is a virtual 3d world where there is over 3 million people give or take on the network and you can walk around communicate, voice chat all sorts of stuff its really good for networking.

You could use some Email Blasting Service a few times thats stratigic for your type of business i dunno my keywords are so deep anyone can find my site. Also i have noticed a few programs that come in handy for marketing your brand and or company.

Blog sites, Networking Sites mostly these are all free it just takes time to find everyone of them and put your advertisement on their sites or networks its time consuming and a headache however once you do it for a long enough time then its second nature.

I am assuming the idea would be to multiply your $100.

First I would create a blog on a niche topic that I am extremely knowledgeable on. I would write on the topic every other day for at least a month. I would promote it using a social network such as twitter or facebook. I would create short concise videos with a webcam (if I had one)...I actually do have one...although not everyone does. Otherwise I would create articles and mini powerpoint presentations with embedded images to keep it interesting. I would ask a few select people in my community that are doing things complimentary to me if they want to place a small intro business ad for $10 (to be included on 50 cd`s). Then I would do a short little 250 word article on them. Alternatively, they could just submit an article for you (at no charge to them) just to keep your topics diverse...but still related.

I would then call my local Rotary clubs, chamber of commerce, professional groups and offer to do free public speaking or mini workshops on my niche topic. I would repurpose and compile all of my info that I created during the first 30 days to cater toward my target group and burn all my articles and info onto a cd (first you would have to buy the cd`s). I think a spool of 100 is about 50 buck). So that is where I would use half of my hundred bucks. Then after the event I would sell the CD`s for $1 each or something to that effect. The remainder of the 50 bucks should be used for business cards (vistaprint.com) and a door prize or two to build up the interest in attending the event.

I would use the promo CD`s to give an overview of myself and the value of information and community I would provide by doing business with me. Then I would work on building my email contact list. At which point I would invest into a contact management program like icontact.com or constant contact to stay in touch with my target market.

I am a strong advocate of article marketing, social networking and what have you but my greatest success over the past 3 years for building community and a highly targeted contact list has been in my offline and organic marketing efforts. Meeting folks face to face and writing original non-optimized content on my blog.

cheers and good luck to you.

Once you feel you have created a buzz and you are getting positive feedback - utilize the $100 for a follow up marketing campaign.

I had an advertising and marketing and advertising business (and still sustain a few client) where I used many marketing and advertising methods for my clients; don't ignore your details is just as essential as the marketing and advertising moderate you will be using. Billboard might be excellent in your industry for your kind of economic enterprise, but if you have the erroneous details or way too much on your billboard it's not going to operate. Different marketing and advertising methods operate when used effectively. If you are questioning why I don't have my company enterprise anymore; it's not that I don't, I just determined to pay attention to word marketing and advertising for now, but I still have a few customers I seek advice from for. Be regular with your details.
