I am looking to create a membership website to add or evolve my current site (www.FriedmanCLNC.com) for nurses who are interested in business ventures, nursing or health information and/or legal nurse business.  I have looked around the internet at different options and would like some feedback about companies, software and use from anyone who uses them and what you think.  Please feel free to contact me privately if you would like, at FriedmanCLNC@comcast.net.
Thank you,
Audrey Friedman

There are a bunch of membership site scripts available. I do not have one to recommend, but you may be able to narrow down the list by finding the script that have the features to want  - or may need in the future.

Here is a list of some free community building systems that I would recommend.
Depending on what features are important to you and the look and feel you are going for; I`m sure you will find a solution that fits.

Ning - Very easy to get started.

For a paid membership site you will need a reliable system to handle
billing. If its a free site there are a lot more options.

So which is it? Paid or Free?

Thanks everyone for the information.  My plan is for a paid membership site.  The two that seem to come up on top are MemberGate and Camelback.  Does anyone have any experience with either of those two?

Thanks again!

I personally use Fantasos and can set you up with a test account.

If you want to read about it look HERE

When I found this software I stopped looking.  There are other things
on the market that work well.  A lot of internet marketing people
use Amember and Butterfly Marketing.

Here`s an article about the realities of building and monetizing
memebership sites.  Required Reading for what you are doing.

You might also want to look at the Teaching Sells site; you can get a week`s trial for $1. They have lots of good material on setting up membership sites and they cover the philosophy, the marketing, and the nuts and bolts of how to do it.

They have some pretty active forums and the instructors and students have been very generous in sharing their knowledge and experience.

I`ve been a member since last October and have learned tons of great stuff there.  I`ve got much more than my money`s worth.
