I am a hardcore couponer, I have been saving over 50% on groceries and personal hygiene products by using coupons. Often times I`m left to pay the state sales tax on health and beauty items. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas how I could turn this into a buisness.

I am also into credit repair and have done this successfully and LEGALLY for people in my family. I am familiar with the practice of debt collection and what is considered a federal violation that can be pursued on the part of the consumer in court. This is something else I am considering but I would like to do whichever may be more profitable.

For the coupon idea, what exactly would you be looking to turn into a business? Your expertise on coupon savings?

Just off the top of my head, perhaps a paid local newsletter or blog targeted to locals might be something to consider. The newsletter can contain what your best practices are, coupon strategies, or specific coupons you use for certain items and where they are offered.

I think your credit repair idea sounds great and maybe something you should look into pursuing.

Is there anything preventing you from pursuing both business ideas?

The creator of Coupon Mom http://www.couponmom.com/ was on Oprah.  She has made a business out of her savvy frugal living.  Looks like she`s making money from advertising on her site.  And she probably has an eBook out there somewhere.  Just some possible avenues for you to mimic and improve.

The credit reparit business is a very high risk business often time it is difficult to get a merchant account to process payments for that type of business. not to say that you cannot find a company that will do it. But the rates are always a bit higher.

For the coupons sits, most websites that offer coupons monetize on ads and such for putting together a database of coupons for people to download.

But if you do it offline, you can perhaps print a brochure and pass it around your communuty for free, the participating companies in the brochure, you just have to ask them to pay to get in there

both are saturated industries..so you have to clearly differentiate yourself to gain and maintain a competitive advantage.  regarding your couponing passion, why not start a blog and keep your readers up to speed on the latest and greatest through automated RSS feeds? you can monetize through google ads, affiliates, vendor paid ads/texts/banners.....etc.

For the couponing I was thinking of maybe renting a room in the local community center, and facilitating a class. The class would include basic couponing information and also some supplies to get each person started. I was also considering maybe throwing coupon parties for those that would like to learn about coupon in their home with maybe a few friends
