Hi everyone, my name is Roddy and I'm really glad to be here with all of you. I'm an entrepreneur at heart and I've dabbled in a few other businesses, but I finally started a business that I'm very serious about - Local Coupons. I've always wanted to run a business that benefited businesses, local shoppers, and charities! I've always believed that this was possible.
First of all, my site is http://www.lubbockcoupons.com - it's a local online coupon site as you can tell. I've got two different ideas/business models and I'd love your feedback as to which you think is best.
1. I charge businesses to post coupons on the site. The major issue with this is that, until I can prove that the site will be seen many shoppers, alot of businesses don't want to sign up.
2. I charge local shoppers to enter the site. I'm leaning toward this one. My thought is to charge $10 per month for access to (hopefully) over 100 coupons at local businesses that don't run coupons anywhere else! Additionally, when shoppers sign up, they'll be able to choose a charity from a list of charities and $5 each month from their $10 fee will go to that charity.
In a nutshell, I'm trying to determine which way to go. Any input will be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
Roddy Oaks
