We just hired our first three senior management executives via a very cost effective way to advertise using our own web site.

After placing a two line AD in the Chicago Tribune on Sunday for two weeks in a row which included a 30 day listing on Career Builder dot com, we directed the candidates to a page on our own web site for a more comprehensive description of the position. We received 32 resumes and interviewed 16 individuals.

At a networking event this week at my Alma Matter I learned that one can list a career opportunity on the university alumni career web site for no cost. Do you know of additional successful job recruitment avenues?

You might also try industry associations.  Many will post jobs at no cost to the employer.
