I know we`re all busy. But being the horse lover that I am, I can`t help but share this video link with you.

http://video.google.nl/videoplay?docid=-4584913278289860160

When you have 6.5 minutes, check it out. From Google Video (Holland).

Isn`t it amazing ... the power of a good idea, a willfulness behind it, and the way a good idea is always "followed."

Rich,

That was a great video. A boat in the water could have itimidated horses a little. They know that they cannot float. It took other horses to show them that you are not going to drown. Just like starting a business when there is a lot of success. However, someone needs to take the first plunge before success happens.

That was inspiring. What a great idea they had to lead them to safe land, to show them it can be done!Thank you for sharing.

What`s great is that it`s GOOD news made out of potentially bad news. Ordinary media would`ve focused on the horses that died, then had everyone freakin` out about how the "likelihood" is that the ensuing rescue would fail.

It`s a shame that so little good news ever makes it to the mainstream media these days. Fortunately, with online sources and video like this, all is not lost! :-D

Rich, Thanks for sharing. Powerful.

Craig - don`t sell all of the mainstream media short. I`m not a big 3 news watcher much but I do watch Charlie Gibson (ABC) most nights while eating dinner - mostly because I like Charlie and he always highlights some great "human interest" stories - sometimes you can almost see a tear in his eye - and I do think they do a great job with the "Person of the Week" segment.

Anyway, when this story broke, he was on it. I know I saw at least 3-4 stories on these horses when it was happening during that week. In fact, the day they came across the water, the story was extra long - I saw a lot of this video that day. And I believe they did an interview with the lead horseman (actually a woman) you see leading the pack ... in fact, they made a big deal about how many of the horsemen were women ... I think it was their idea to lead the horses across. (once again, proving what we already know ... women are smarter than men  )

 I`ve always loved horses.

Reminds me of the story of how elephants are domesticated, once wild elephants are trapped their leg gets chained to a tree they can`t possible pull out, nor can they can`t break the chain. The elephant will try to break loose but eventually learns that it is futile and stops trying, he`s accepted his confinement. After that the chain is removed and the elephant tied with a simple string to a branch, something that a 10 year old boy could move now stops the mighty elephant. Those horses had accepted that their situation and had cease trying. How many people are in the same boat having accepted that it is futile to attempt something different?

Cool video
