Just wanted to express my congratulations to all the StartupNation Home-Based 100 Winners and Honorable Mentions.  The competition was a lot of fun and I got to know many SuN members much better.  Thanks to SuN for coordinating a great annual competition.

Now it`s time to get out there and TOOT! your horns!

Sweet! Congratulations to everyone!  Winners for doing what it takes and non-winners for doing what it takes too (I still love you and we need to have a group hug!~)

I don`t want my post to appear that sour grapes are involved, because I am not one of this year`s winners-so congrats to the 2008 winners, vote getters and honorable mentions.
My question though, is: How exactly were the winners decided. SUN didn`t get into too much detail concerning how winners were selected (unless I missed something along the way) It appears to me that visitor voting didn`t have too much to do with the deciding factor, as it became a winners category on it`s own. How were honorable mentions determined? Was there a panel, Ouija Board, Rock, Paper Scissors? I ask, because I wish to better prepare myself for next year`s contest.

Is there anyone willing to share the secret formula?

Yes, I must say this was a fun contest! Congrats to all the winners and everyone involved in the competition...we were just thrilled to be a winner in the Most Innovative category and look forward to checking out some more of the other winners and honorable mention sites (I have already visited many of the sites during the competition). I think we can all learn from each other here and that is what this is all about!

I also look forward to seeing how everyone uses this award to promote their businesses. As Jeff said, now is the time to TOOT! your horns!

Congratulations all!

Just when you`re winning they change the rules.  Where did these "judges" come from?

I am embarrassed for the all the promotion I did and wish I could give back the time my 800+ customers and friends took each day to vote and leave comments.

This is the second time I`ve had to "eat crow" (first being AS SEEN ON TV products contacting me through this site).

Now I know how Al Gore felt.

Hi grabitpack & RockinJoe,  I`m  sorry you didn`t win.  I`ve read your posts and know how much it meant to you.  You`re lucky to of had, all your customers participate.  Hopefully Rich or someone will set the record straight. But I remember reading that,.. votes would `help`, when judging the entries.  There were so many great contestants, I`m sure it was a tough choice for the judges.
Congratulations to everyone!

It`s not luck.  I EARNED those votes through customer service, promotion, and appreciation.  I am embarrassed to have led my customers through this.

It`s funny how NOT ONE of the winners did any promotion in the forums on the very site they "won".  In fact, few of the winners were even TOP VOTE RECIPIENTS!

This "contest" was just a way to increase traffic to a dwindling site (as mentioned in another post headline).
