" NEW YORK - Comcase Corp. actively interferes with attempts by some of its high-speed Internet subscribers to share files online, a move that runs counter to the tradition of treating all types of Net traffic equally. "

What does everyone think of this?

I think it`s pretty sneaky and deceptive of them, although their uploads have always sucked. I found the comment about spending the money used to develop this used instead to upgrade service to be telling ...

I just read the article and I found it interesting, but not surprising. I think Robber Barons would be a good description. Their new high rise building is entering final phases located here in Phila.  I don`t know how tall it is (like that is a measures of their success) but I still remember their one floor headquarter building back in the 80`s.
Capitalism and socialism in this country don`t really mix well.  No surprise there.

Comcast has been blocking my email for years, mostly because I have a small domain name and haven`t yet put up a Web site. I can email someone once, then no more. And even if they get an email from me, they can`t mail me back. I end up using my SBCGlobal account for anyone who has a Comcast account. (AT&T also, for the most part.)

So it doesn`t surprise me  that for their "customer`s safety and convenience" they would start blocking various Web sites and other online information as well.

Craig ... how do you have that set up? I check several accounts through my Comcast connection. You don`t need a website - a lot of mine go through Google Apps for Business (gmail with your own domain name).

I don`t know how it`s set up on my end, just the regular way I guess. When I send mail to anyone it gets through, excepting these few folks on Comcast and AT&T. At first they were getting the mail, but couldn`t reply. They got that "cannot find server" error. Then they didn`t even get the mail.

When I tried to email Comcast to see about how to get it fixed, it turned out there wasn`t any way to get ahold of them. So I use my sbcglobal.net account for those few friends of mine on Comcast and AT&T.
