Hello,

I am a co-owner in a place witch is a mix of a restaurant/cocktail bar/club.Its a great concept and works really well in a past two years.Also gets a great PR,had a few articles in Times,Dine&Wine and won some awards.

Lately i talked to my partners in trying to expand this concept of business to major US cities.So with all this above sad what do you think are the chances to attract some major private equity fonds or venture capital firms to get in on a project like this one.

If anyone can tell me some of the fonds that are investing in this type of ventures it would be greatly appreciated.

Are you planning to expand through franchising or company owned locations?

Generally, restaurants are challenging to finance because of the industry history. However, expanding an existing concept which has a history of performance should be easier.

You will need a sound business plan and a solid team along with an optimum capital strategy.

Yes the club is placed in the Usa and i really dont think it would be a problem with finding big investors if you look at the numbers this club/restaurant has been making in a past two years.Plus our main partner who runs the club has 6 other places witch are all doing well.Because of his track record he had no problems to get us to invest in this place.

But i really think that this concept of a club/restaurant should be in every major cities in Usa and yes we are thinking in going with company owned places.

Main thing is trying to find a venture capital or private equity firm who would see the potential of making this next Hard Rock.

The question is: How much are you seeking for this expansion and over what time frame (how many new sites per year).

There are VC and angel groups that invest in restaurant concepts.  But, approaching them directly is a very hard way to approach it.  You need to find their gatekeepers - those that the investor has worked with in the past and trusts.  You could start by networking with other business professionals in your area.

You might also be able to put together your own investment team via networking in your local area.

Know that professional investors want big returns over very short periods.  Local investors may have other motives that can work to your advantage.
