Hi SuN,

My name is Alan and I am new to the website. I am contemplating starting a Custom Tailored Suit Business and was looking for a little advice on some of the logistics. Should I buy fabrics from textile mills and hire tailors to customize the suits or should I purchase the customer tailored suits one at a time from the clothing manufacturers?

What is the likelihood of finding a manufacturer that will sell single suits? And does anyone know a good clothing manufacturer that is high quality and has many fabric choices (anywhere in the world)?

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Yes Denver you would want to manufc. & hire tailors if your going to sell your own Branded custom made suits. If you try to buy suits wholesale then you would only be a retailer selling everything else Mens Warhouse and others are carrying.

To make the right contacts and really get into the fashion industry I would read some books on starting your own clothing line and there is actually a website that has an entire system to follow. (can't recall the name though, google around)

Also, i would visit the Magic Show in Las Vegas to make connects.

I agree with having your own tailors.  If you buy them wholesale, it won't take long for people to catch on that your suits are not really custom-made.  You don't want this to happen.
