Do any of you SUNers use a "click to talk/chat" button on your website to allow prospects to talk to or chat with a live person? I`m looking for a service that offers this type of functionality, and of course I want something inexpensive. Any information appreciated.

Not sure about voice systems, unless you want to use Skype maybe .... there are some free customer support live chat scripts to be found if you search for them.

I use chatstat.com. to do live chats. It`s not very expensive and works pretty well, although it does have glitches or freeze up occasionally. I personally don`t think you can effectively sell anything on a website without a live chat feature of some kind.

I spoke with Jim before of www.intersighttechnologies.com He is a Sun member.  Has a very affordable per chat answer, handled by his team.  Also, I think there are some free chat programs if you want to handle it all yourself.

http://www.craftysyntax.com/ is a free customer support / chat script.
Your web host may offer it... my hosting provides it free.

I stumbled upon this Live Chat Software on this site yesterday, and thought that I might share it. Since then, I`ve seen it quite a few times all day on many websites. I`ll try it sometime too!

Cheers!

one way i have found out about companies that offer this is through viewing another website`s source code. i am a big fan of this technology and love using it. click on "view" on top of your browser then click "source". some websites that offer the chat feature will have the name of the service provider within the code.  some savvy ones may take it out but i have found out so much through this simple step.
