How do you folks think the website would look with woodgrain side borders, like stereo gear used to have?

And, since I`m not an HTML/CSS guru, where can I go to find out how to put that kind of image as a border on the right and left of the pages?

I built the website myself, and maintain it, but I taught myself just enough HTML to be able to do just that. Nothing fancy.

I`m also a newbie to HTML, using Nvu, and have no desire to get really into it. I`ve got a great designer who`ll take over when I get to where I know enough to be able to ask pertinent questions.

That being said, the "old way" of doing things was to set up a table with a column for the left side of the woodgrain, then your content columns, and the last right-hand column for the right side of the border. There`s a javascript that presumably allows you to set an image as a cell background, but I haven`t made it work yet.

Span the rows in the left and right column, and presumably, you can put a JPG of the woodgrain border into that column, stretching top to bottom. It`s a workaround, not very elegant, but it`s low-tech. :-) From someone who knows very little about HTML stuff.
