Choosing the right color scheme for your website would be a daunting task. With a little color theory and the right tools designing color palettes will be fun.

Great article! I love using Kuler and, most recently, http://www.colourlovers.com/ to select palettes. This has such an impact on the tone and impact your design has. Small business owners building websites, should use these sites if at all design challenged. Most people know what looks good and these site make it easy to choose the right colors.

Wasn`t there a TV show, Discovery Channel maybe, that showed how many people feel they have a wonderful sense of color schemes? And of course the reality was that a lot of other people disagreed. :-)

The biggest problem I see in this color scheme situation is convincing folks that the way colors work together isn`t just a guess, a feeling, or a lucky accident. People with bad color schemes tend to feel that it`s all a matter of personal taste, so if critics disagree on their colors, they don`t really care much.

What`s nice about Kuler is that you can take a photograph you like and it will extract a color scheme for you. I use Kuler all the time, it`s kind of addicting actually. So at that point your color scheme is derived from some objective source and isn`t just totally subjective... which I imagine would be just your thing Craig :)
