I am involved in a fund-raiser for The March of Dimes (a charity who`s mission is to improve the health of babies) called Chocolate Fantasy.  Fifteen area food related businesses provide a sampling of their best desserts to hundreds of foodies ready to get their sugar on.  I provided a large sampling of my gourmet caramel apples, stuffed strawberries (chocolate covered strawberries stuffed with cheesecake), and gourmet caramel pretzels.  The audience then votes on their favorite which receives the People`s Choice award and recognition in area newspapers.  I am proud to say that little ol` me beat out 2 national chain restaurants and many celebrated local eateries and chocolatiers to obtain the prestigeous title of "People`s Choice".  Last year I was awarded the "People`s Choice" and "Chef`s Choice" Awards. 

This post isn`t necesarrily meant to toot my own horn, but to be an encouragement to the small businesses, especially mompreneurs out there, that even the smallest of businesses can make their mark if you are passionate about what you do!
